Hearing Aid Best Practices: Verification & Validation

Verification is the way to measure hearing aid performance to establish truth and accuracy. It is an objective measure based solely on the empirical evidence recorded by the instrumentation. We use verification to ensure that the powerful processors inside of hearing instruments are able to meet a specific standard, giving the patient what their hearing loss requires. Without proper verification practices, there is no way of knowing if the hearing aids are performing correctly. This procedure compares the real-time study of sound inside of your ear canal to prescribed amplification required for your individual hearing loss.

After the verification measurement has been completed and the proper adjustments have been made, it is crucial for a patient to validate their hearing aids and assess their effectiveness from their own perspective. We will fine-tune your hearing aids to your exact preferences, ensuring that the hearing aids are not only performing accurately, but are also comfortable and meeting your needs.

Hearing Aid Brands With The Latest Technology

Invisible Hearing Aids

Invisible hearing aids are the smallest and most discreet styles of hearing aids available. They are custom-made to fit inside your ear canal, where they are almost invisible to the naked eye. Invisible hearing aids are ideal for people with mild to moderate hearing loss who value discretion and comfort. However, they are not suitable for everyone. Some factors that may affect your eligibility for invisible hearing aids are the level and type of your hearing loss, the shape and size of your ear canal, and your personal preferences and lifestyle. To find out if you are a good candidate for invisible hearing aids, book a consultation where we can assess your hearing needs and recommend the best option for you.

Rechargable Hearing Aids

Rechargeable hearing aids are devices that use built-in batteries that can be recharged using a charger. They offer several advantages over hearing aids that use disposable batteries, such as: Convenience: You don’t have to worry about replacing or buying batteries frequently. You can simply charge your hearing aids overnight or when not in use. Longer battery life: Rechargeable hearing aids can last up to 24 hours or more on a single charge, depending on the model and usage. This means you can enjoy uninterrupted hearing throughout the day. Cost savings: Rechargeable hearing aids can save you money in the long run, as you don’t have to spend on disposable batteries that need to be replaced every few days or weeks. Environmental friendliness: Rechargeable hearing aids reduce the amount of waste and pollution caused by disposable batteries, which can contain harmful chemicals and metals.

Bluetooth Hearing Aids

Bluetooth hearing aids are devices that use wireless technology to connect to your smartphone, tablet, TV, or other audio sources. They allow you to stream sound directly to your hearing aids, without the need for wires or additional accessories. Bluetooth hearing aids offer several benefits, such as: Personalized listening experience: You can adjust the volume and settings of your hearing aids from your smartphone or smartwatch, or use an app to customize your sound preferences. You can also choose to hear the streaming sound in one or both hearing aids, and balance it with the ambient noise around you. Hands-free listening: You can enjoy hands-free phone calls, video calls, music, podcasts, and more, without having to hold your device close to your ear. You can also move freely within the range of your Bluetooth connection, which is usually up to 30 feet. Multiple connections: You can pair your hearing aids with multiple devices, and switch between them easily. For example, you can pause the audio from your TV to answer a phone call, or stream music from your tablet while browsing the web on your laptop.

Connection & Communication

Brain Function & Cognitive Health

If you have untreated hearing loss, you have a greater chance of developing dementia.  Hearing loss deprives the brain of stimulation, reducing opportunities for social interaction.  The effect is a loss of cognitive function.  Treating your hearing loss early, before it’s too late can improve your long-term independence. *source

Early Prevention

Many people don’t notice their hearing loss because it happens gradually over years. How often do you have to repeat yourself or turn down the TV or radio? These are signs that your hearing needs attention.
